Trinity Lutheran Church, Stone Arabia, 5426 State Hwy 10, Palatine Bridge, NY, is hosting a Historic Organ Program at 7 pm on Friday, May 9th, 2014.
Dr. Eric Stroud will present a “Show and Tell” about the old organ pipe work including a rare opportunity to explore the interior hidden workings and unseen features of the pipes. The program will also feature talented local performers including organists Dr. Stroud, Naphtali Rothrock and Norma Bowley; flutist Anne Cooper; trumpeter Terry Gordon; and vocalist Rev. Kenneth Dingman. All music during the program is accompanied by the organ. This country church is like a step-back-in-time. Founded in 1729, the original log church was burned by the Tories and their Indian allies during the American Revolution. The early pioneers rebuilt the church in 1792. There has been a continuous active congregation here for almost 300 years. Trinity is listed on both the New York and United States Registers of Historic Places. There will be a free will offering for preservation of the historic pipe organ and church. Refreshments will be provided following the program. For further information call 518-673-5443 or 518-673-2224.
