The Upstate Chapel is a premier artistic and community event venue in Canajoharie, New York. The building is the former Sts. Peter and Paul church, which was the first Roman Catholic church settled in this village. Repurposed for classical and choral music events in October 2011, the building is a fine example of simple gothic construction in limestone, with the actual limestone quarried directly onsite.
The building features 5,000 sq. ft. of acoustically active space, a beautiful collection of Victorian-era stained glass windows, a pipe organ, harpsichord, and full concert grand piano. Multimedia projectors, computer-controlled LED lighting, and a modern PA system enhance performances at the Upstate Chapel. Our guests can also enjoy a full kitchen, public and private bathrooms, a fully stocked bar, sleeping area, and study space.
In addition to seasonal musical concert performances and visiting instrumentalists, the Upstate Chapel is an ideal venue for a private wedding, a non-denominational wedding, a same-sex wedding, movie production, recording studio space, or practice space. We are happy to accommodate your specific needs.
